Susanne Kriemann

Susanne Kriemann (DE, lives in Berlin and Karlsruhe) is an artist and professor for artistic photography at the Staatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung in Karlsruhe. Her works are characterized by an extended concept of photography, and are interwoven with socio-historical and archival contexts. Recording as a photographic principle is examined under the aspects of temporality and material processes. Her works have been exhibited at the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg, the Berlinische Galerie, The Wattis San Francisco, and at biennials worldwide, e.g. the 5th Berlin Biennial, 11th Shanghai Biennial, 10th Gothenburg Biennial. Susanne Kriemann has co-edited 18 artists' books to date. She is co-founder of the artists' initiative Air Berlin Alexanderplatz e.V.
